I was very excited for this class. It was something different that i was looking forward to. I knew that i was not the best with craft and decided to make it a fun experiment instead of stressing about making it perfect.
Alexander Mcqueen is known for his extravagant stores and interiors and i felt pressure to come up with something unique and exclusive for his store.
The slides and different ideas for mock ups helped me as it let me think of how older students curated their designs and gave me a creative direction.
I decided on doing a shop display after the online session as i could see there was more space to work with.
My idea was a S- Shaped breakup of the space with one side have a curved rod around the curvy wall to display the clothes. The end of the rack would lead you to a mirror and trial rooms. There would also be raised platforms as if to make it feel like a person stylist fitting room. The walls would be made up of reflective mirror. I chose this so it isint an ordinary looking interior.
I also wanted to do colourful reflective mirrors on the wall to make it a fun environment but did not know how to properly display it with the materials i had. Quirky mannequin and large stone boulders was also in my list for the store but i could not put it into display.
I felt a little helpless as i had so many ideas i was not being able to showcase.
